Developed by Espressif Systems, this low-cost, high-performance microcontroller offers a complete and self-contained Wi-Fi networking solution, enabling it to either host the application or offload all Wi-Fi networking functions from another application processor.

- Processor: L106 32-bit RISC microprocessor core based on the Tensilica Diamond Standard 106Micro, capable of running at 80 MHz (default) or 160 MHz.
- Memory:
- 32 KiB instruction RAM
- 32 KiB instruction cache RAM
- 80 KiB user-data RAM
- 16 KiB ETS system-data RAM
- External QSPI flash: Supports up to 16 MiB (512 KiB to 4 MiB typically included).
- Wi-Fi Capability: IEEE 802.11 b/g/n support with integrated TR switch, balun, LNA, power amplifier, and matching network.
- Security: WEP or WPA/WPA2 authentication, or open networks.
- GPIO Pins: 17 general-purpose input/output pins for versatile functionality.
